Welcome
Welcome to Arts 4 Wellbeing
Arts 4 Wellbeing is a vibrant day opportunity service in the heart of the borough of South Tyneside, and has operated since November 1994 under its formal title of South Tyneside Arts Studio. The service has grown significantly over the years and the organisation moved from its original base in Beach Road, to our current premises at Derby Street, South Shields in 2007 when the official opening of the new centre was conducted by her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex.
A decision to re-brand the service to its new title Arts 4 Wellbeing was made and officially relaunched as Arts 4 Wellbeing at the Annual general meeting in March 2009.
Here at Arts 4 Wellbeing we pride ourselves in being committed and actively strive to provide a warm welcoming, relaxed and safe environment for people living in our borough, particularly those with learning disabilities and those at risk of developing mental health problems. We enable our members participate in activities that can help foster personal growth, address their social inclusion and provide them with effective therapeutic or preventative services.
Arts 4 Wellbeing is a registered charity and was incorporated (under its formal title) as a company limited guarantee in September 1995.

Message from The Manager
Welcome to Arts 4 Wellbeing.
I am proud and privileged to be the Manager of such a vibrant day opportunities service, a place where we see our members abilities not their disabilities.
At Arts 4 Wellbeing we believe everyone has a voice and should be heard. We pride ourselves in hosting a warm, happy, stimulating and creative environment. A place where our members gain confidence and feel they have a sense of worth, a place where they belong.
We have a talented and dedicated team of staff who work hard to plan and provide an exciting engaging curriculum, where our members are at the heart of our learning. We encourage our members to be independent, take responsibility for their learning and ensuring our programme is a person centred approach.
We set high standards and provide a high level of care and support, allowing our members to make progress in all they achieve no matter how big or small, we are committed to identifying and developing our members talents to help them achieve their full potential. We strongly believe that the arts provide a wealth of opportunities and experiences, that both enhance and develop learning skills and talents as well as self confidence and self esteem.
With pride members of Arts 4 Wellbeing were the first within the Country to achieve accredited certificates of pass level 1 and 2 in Care. As a charity both staff and members believe anything is possible and this is just one of the examples to evidence this.
I believe in an open door policy, and carer/family support is crucial to the success of our members progress. We provide a range of opportunities for carers/family members to engage in all that we do.
In summary, we have earned our excellent reputation by Empowering the people of South Tyneside.
If you would like to see Arts 4 Wellbeing in action. Please contact the office to make an appointment on 0191 454 4004. I look forward to seeing you.
Ms R Harrison - Manager.
